An unlabeled Bitcoin wallet that went quiet for more than a year withdrew 3,009 BTC from Binance, according to Lookonchain. The same address previously sent 5,699 BTC to the exchange when Bitcoin traded near $89,000, so the move amounts to a partial buyback at a lower price.
A whale that sold Bitcoin near $89,000 is buying again. The wallet pulled 3,009 BTC, worth approximately $228 million off Binance, according to on-chain analytics firm Lookonchain.
The wallet withdrew in five tranches
Lookonchain flagged the activity on November 6, 2026, and described it as the address's first significant on-chain action in over a year. One batch moved 437 BTC, worth about $33 million, and four more batches moved roughly 643 BTC each.
Bitcoin was changing hands at around $75,000 to $76,000 during the withdrawals. That sits well below the roughly $89,000 level where the same wallet had deposited coins onto the exchange.
Lookonchain and Arkham Intelligence supplied the primary data, but nobody has publicly tied a name, fund, or company to the wallet.
A partial buyback, not a full one
The address had previously deposited 5,699 BTC into Binance. The latest withdrawals cover 3,009 of those coins, a little more than half. The source says the whale appears to be rebuilding a position it previously wound down.
Splitting the withdrawal across five transfers does not change the economics, the source notes, but it does suggest a deliberate, staged approach. Coins in a private wallet also leave the exchange order book, which makes the pool of coins readily available for sale a little smaller.
Still, one wallet does not make a trend. The source calls a single unlabeled wallet moving $228 million meaningful but not decisive for an asset of Bitcoin's size. If the remaining 2,690 or so coins also leave the exchange, the buyback story gets much stronger.
