CME Group will launch Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap futures contracts on October 19, pending regulatory review, expanding its crypto derivatives lineup beyond Bitcoin and Ether. The contracts will come in standard and Micro sizes, adding to an existing roster of futures covering several other digital assets.
CME Group plans to launch futures contracts for Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap on October 19, expanding its crypto derivatives lineup. The contracts are subject to regulatory review and will be available in both standard and Micro sizes, the derivatives marketplace said in a Tuesday announcement.
Contract sizes for the new products
Bitcoin Cash futures will represent 250 BCH per contract, while Micro Bitcoin Cash futures will represent 25 BCH. Uniswap futures will cover 10,000 UNI, with Micro contracts representing 1,000 UNI.
The launch comes as institutional investors seek more ways to hedge exposure to cryptocurrencies beyond Bitcoin and Ether, according to CME. The derivatives marketplace said the new products are being introduced in response to client demand. Giovanni Vicioso, CME's global head of cryptocurrency products, said market participants need wider, regulated instruments to manage risk tied to digital assets as the sector matures.
An expanding derivatives lineup
The new contracts will add to CME's existing futures offerings covering assets including Bitcoin, Ether, XRP, Solana, Cardano, Chainlink, Stellar, Avalanche and Sui. CME's cryptocurrency futures and options recorded an average daily volume of 279,800 contracts during the first half of 2026, representing $8.3 billion in notional value. Average open interest stood at 264,600 contracts, worth $15.4 billion in notional value, per the company.
Regulated crypto derivatives keep growing
Regulated derivatives markets are becoming a larger part of crypto trading. Last week, Coinbase filed for regulatory approval to offer perpetual futures tied to around 50 to 60 major U.S. stocks, including Apple, Microsoft, Tesla and Nvidia.
