A Bitcoin wallet holding 100 BTC has moved for the first time in more than 14 years, awakening coins first received on November 2, 2011, months after Bitcoin's creator went silent. Galaxy Research tied the transfer to "Noah Doe #3113," a label linked to a New York lawsuit over thousands of dormant Bitcoin addresses.
Galaxy Research's X account reported the transfer in block 967732, labeling the address "Noah Doe #3113." That label ties the wallet to a lawsuit filed in New York's Supreme Court in March 2026. Plaintiff "Noah Doe" and two unnamed Wyoming LLCs are seeking quiet title to more than 3.7 million BTC tied to 39,069 Bitcoin addresses, including coins linked to Bitcoin creator Satoshi Nakamoto. On September 8, the crypto community closely followed an important hearing in the case.
An old Bitcoin miner?
The stash was likely mined before Bitcoin's first halving. The halving took place on November 28, 2012, by which point 10.5 million BTC had been issued across 210,000 blocks, each yielding 50 BTC in miner rewards. An address holding exactly 100 BTC might suggest its holder mined two of those blocks, though no further evidence supports that yet.
Most Satoshi-era coins already moved
Of those 50 BTC Coinbase rewards, 172,042 outputs, or 83.5%, have already been spent, according to Galaxy Research, with most moving before 2014. Another 33,995 outputs remain unspent, holding about 1.699 million BTC. Galaxy Research estimates 21,922 of those unspent outputs, or 1.096 million BTC, were mined by Satoshi Nakamoto, 64.5% of what remains untouched.
At the time of writing, Bitcoin traded at $80,347.
