Audiera's BEAT and MemeCore's M token posted double-digit gains over the past 24 hours even as bitcoin stayed pinned near $63,000 after a volatile week. Most larger-cap altcoins, including ETH, BNB, XRP, UNI, and AAVE, traded lower over the same period.
Bitcoin rebounded to $63,000 after an earlier slide. It had touched a 17-day low of $62,400 before finding support, while a handful of smaller altcoins pulled well ahead of the broader market.
Bitcoin swings between $62,400 and $65,600
Bitcoin had climbed on favorable US inflation data for June, and tapped a monthly peak of $67,000 just over a week ago. Bearish sentiment then returned, and the asset slumped below $64,000 that Friday.
It recovered over the weekend and pumped to $65,600 on Monday. It then dumped to $62,700 a day later as investors de-risked ahead of the FOMC meeting.
More volatility followed the event, as the Fed ultimately left rates unchanged. Bitcoin then jumped back to $65,500 on Thursday and Friday morning. Bears took over again and drove it to $62,400, its lowest point since July 14.
Bulls have since pushed the price back to $63,000, though warning signs point to another possible leg down. Bitcoin's market cap has fallen to $1.265 trillion. Its dominance over altcoins has settled at 56%.
BEAT and MemeCore lead the gainers
Audiera's BEAT is the top performer of the past 24 hours, surging 22% to $4.60. MemeCore's M token follows with an 11% gain to $1.10, while PUMP and PI add 9% and 5% respectively.
Larger-cap alts stay in the red
Most bigger altcoins move the other way. ETH, BNB, and XRP are each down by more than 1%. HYPE has dumped another 5% to $52.
UNI and AAVE have slumped by more than 6%, and RAIN has lost almost 3% of its value. XMR, HBAR, and SHIB are among the few exceptions still in the green. The total crypto market cap has dropped by around $30 billion in a day to $2.260 trillion.
