Enbridge is paying $600 million cash for Salt Creek Midstream's crude oil gathering business in the Permian Basin's Delaware sub-basin. The deal adds full ownership of two gathering systems, a stake in a third, and roughly 500 miles of pipeline connecting producers to Gulf Coast export terminals.

Enbridge is expanding deeper into the Permian Basin with a $600 million acquisition of Salt Creek Midstream's crude oil gathering business. The cash deal strengthens the pipeline giant's ability to move barrels from the Delaware Basin to export markets on the U.S. Gulf Coast.

The assets Enbridge is buying

The transaction gives Enbridge full ownership of the Orla and Wink North gathering systems, plus a 50% interest in the Delaware Crossing system. Together these add roughly 500 miles of additional crude gathering infrastructure to Enbridge's network.

Combined, the systems can handle 420,000 barrels per day and provide 350,000 barrels of storage capacity. They serve more than 20 producers covering approximately 320,000 net dedicated acres under long-term agreements with an average remaining contract life of about 10 years.

A direct route to the Gulf Coast

The acquisition matters because the gathering systems connect with major Permian takeaway pipelines, including the Enbridge-controlled Gray Oak Pipeline. Enbridge said the assets will let it offer customers a more integrated route from the wellhead through Gray Oak and Cactus II to the Enbridge Ingleside Energy Center near Corpus Christi, which the company describes as North America's largest crude export terminal.

According to Oilprice.com: "This acquisition will extend Enbridge's footprint deeper into the Permian Basin," said Colin Gruending, president of Enbridge Liquids Pipelines.

The deal comes as growing U.S. crude exports increase the strategic importance of infrastructure connecting the Permian, America's largest oil-producing basin, with Gulf Coast terminals.

Deal terms and outlook

Enbridge expects the transaction to be immediately accretive to distributable cash flow and earnings per share. The company maintained its 2026 financial guidance, with the acquisition expected to close later this year.
