Ether ETFs pulled in $216.41 million on Friday even as bitcoin funds logged a fourth straight day of outflows. The split pushed ether ETFs to a fourth consecutive weekly inflow while bitcoin ETFs closed an entirely negative week, with bitcoin's price stuck near $77,000.

Bitcoin ETFs stay negative as price holds near $77,000

U.S. bitcoin ETFs lost $13.29 million on Friday, extending the outflow streak to four days, though the pace of redemptions slowed sharply from earlier in the week. BlackRock's IBIT recorded a $19.23 million outflow, enough to outweigh fresh demand elsewhere, after Morgan Stanley's MSBT attracted $3.76 million and VanEck's HODL added $2.18 million.

Total bitcoin ETF trading value reached $2.60 billion, with net assets closing at $97.58 billion. The result capped an entirely negative week for the group, with cumulative outflows reaching $462.73 million. That weakness has coincided with bitcoin's price hovering around $77,000, leaving institutional flows under close watch heading into next week.

Ether funds finish the week with force

Ether ETFs delivered the session's strongest move, recording $216.41 million in net inflows across six funds. BlackRock's ETHA led with $148.82 million, while Bitwise's ETHW added $29.09 million and BlackRock's ETHB attracted $18.32 million. Fidelity's FETH brought in another $11.40 million.

Grayscale's Ether Mini Trust and VanEck's ETHV added $5.09 million and $3.71 million, respectively. Trading value surged to $2.56 billion, as net assets climbed to $16.31 billion, up by almost $1 billion on the day. The Friday surge pushed ether ETFs to roughly $197 million in weekly net inflows, extending their winning streak to four weeks.

Hype and Solana funds stay under pressure

HYPE ETFs lost $8.18 million, with Bitwise's BHYP shedding $6.78 million and 21Shares' THYP losing $1.40 million, leaving net assets at $430.22 million. Solana ETFs slipped by $278,840, entirely from Bitwise's BSOL, with trading value reaching $98.90 million and net assets ending at $1.42 billion. XRP ETFs recorded no net flows, leaving net assets at $1.45 billion, as traders continue to watch XRP's price for signs of renewed momentum.

Inflation keeps the Fed in focus

The latest U.S. inflation data gave crypto investors little relief. August CPI rose 0.4% from July, while annual inflation held at 3.4%. Core inflation eased to 2.4% year over year, its lowest level since March 2021, though the report offered limited support for bitcoin as markets continue to weigh the risk of restrictive monetary policy.

With no clear dovish catalyst, the path back above $80,000 may depend on softer economic data or a more supportive signal from the Federal Reserve.
