Circle's euro-pegged stablecoin EURC has grown into the clear leader of the euro stablecoin market, reaching roughly a $526 million market cap and approximately a 63% share of the sector. Circulation has more than doubled over the past year as European institutions adopt the token under the EU's MiCA rules.
Circle's EURC is now the clear winner in the euro stablecoin market, and it's not particularly close. The token's market capitalization has reached roughly $526 million, giving it approximately 63% of the entire euro stablecoin sector, while rivals EURCV and EURI trail by wide margins.
Circulation more than doubles
EURC's circulation has surpassed €400 million. That reflects growth of over 100% in the past twelve months alone. Some measurements peg the increase at up to 5x since the beginning of what observers call the "MiCA era," the period since the EU's Markets in Crypto-Assets regulation began applying in 2024. Circle first introduced EURC on Ethereum in June 2022, later extending it natively to Base, Solana, Avalanche, and Stellar.
Institutions keep adding exposure
Institutional deposits of EURC sit at roughly $76 million to $77 million, concentrated primarily on Aave V3. The token's reserves are held within regulated European Economic Area institutions, with monthly third-party attestations from a major accounting firm verifying 1:1 redeemability. Major exchanges including Coinbase, Kraken, and Bitstamp have integrated the token, broadening its distribution across euro-denominated trading pairs.
Still a sliver of a dollar-dominated market
The broader euro stablecoin market has grown to approximately €650 million by mid-2026, a figure that puts EURC's lead in sharper relief. Globally, the stablecoin market remains overwhelmingly dollar-denominated, with USDT and USDC accounting for the vast majority of supply and euro-pegged tokens representing only a small sliver. But that sliver is growing, and EURCV and EURI remain distant challengers, with the gap appearing to widen rather than narrow.
