Gemini has signed a non-binding letter of intent with Apex Fintech Solutions that would make its subsidiary, Gemini Titan, the exclusive regulated venue for crypto event contracts distributed through Apex's brokerage network. The deal builds on two licenses Gemini secured, and both firms say they still need to finalize the details.
Gemini has signed a non-binding letter of intent with Apex Fintech Solutions that would make its subsidiary, Gemini Titan, the exclusive regulated venue for crypto event contracts. Under the plan, Apex would distribute the contracts through its futures commission merchant to brokerage customers, with those brokerages using Gemini for execution and clearing.
Apex Gains Room Beyond Crypto
The arrangement also gives Apex flexibility to collaborate with Gemini on sports, economics, and financial markets contracts on a non-exclusive basis. Both firms said they look forward to finalizing details in the coming weeks. Still, Gemini's forward-looking statements describe the arrangement as a non-binding letter of intent and list the possibility that the parties fail to reach a definitive agreement among the risks investors should weigh.
Two Licenses Paved the Way
Gemini Titan secured a Designated Contract Market license in December 2025, letting Gemini start offering regulated prediction markets to US customers. Gemini first filed for that license in March 2020. Then in April, subsidiary Gemini Olympus obtained a Derivatives Clearing Organization license, moving derivatives clearing and settlement for Gemini Titan in-house.
Winklevoss Frames Predictions as Core Strategy
Gemini CEO Tyler Winklevoss said the company deliberately chose to build its predictions platform in-house, drawing on more than a decade of experience running a regulated crypto exchange. He added that, according to CryptoPotato, predictions are "the future of markets", and that the approach lets Gemini expand its offering as demand for event contracts grows.
