Jupiter has launched YOLO in beta, offering up to 1,000x leverage on SOL, BTC and ETH price movements. Jupiter also warned that profitable traders may have to wait for the house to replenish its funds before getting paid.
In its Oct. 15 announcement, Jupiter said users can go long or short, with entry pitched at about $10. Its product directory lists YOLO as an experimental Jupiter Labs product with leverage ranging from 500x to 1,000x.
Traders face the house, with no payout guarantee
Users trade against the house rather than other traders. In an accompanying disclosure, Jupiter said YOLO is unaudited and that if house funds run low, unpaid profits will be queued and paid in order as funds replenish. Jupiter wrote: "No guaranteed payout time"
That creates two risks for users. They can lose their stake on an unsuccessful trade, and they can wait an unspecified length of time to collect profits on a successful one if the house lacks funds.
A higher-leverage experiment
Trading against pooled capital is already part of Jupiter's business. Its Jupiter Perps documentation describes SOL, ETH and wrapped bitcoin markets where the Jupiter Liquidity Pool, or JLP, acts as the counterparty rather than an order book matching traders.
Those JLP markets have a maximum leverage of 250x, compared with YOLO's advertised 1,000x ceiling. The Perps documentation describes that protocol as audited, while the YOLO launch warns that the experimental product is unaudited.
Jupiter says Jupiter Labs built YOLO as a playground for experimental products. Its advice to users: start small and don't put life savings at stake.
