Near Protocol has made NEAR available on Solana through Sunrise, using Near Intents as the cross-chain route. The token's price rose 14% over 24 hours, though the source notes the move may also reflect broader market conditions.
NEAR's price rose 14% over 24 hours to trade between $5.24 and $5.30 after Near and Sunrise made the token available on Solana. The two teams announced the launch on Oct. 15, with liquidity accessible across wallets, trading aggregators and decentralized exchanges such as Jupiter and Raydium.
Near Intents powers the bridge
Near Intents handles the canonical cross-chain movement into Solana. Near Intents provides access to assets across multiple blockchains, while Sunrise focuses on creating liquid Solana markets for them.
The rollout starts with NEAR, but the partners plan to support additional assets and eventually integrate Near Intents directly into Sunrise. That would create more routes for liquidity to reach Solana without separate bridging systems.
Price move may reflect wider market
The source says the price move coincided with the expansion, but short-term token performance can reflect broader crypto market conditions as well as project-specific news. Still, NEAR has more than doubled in the last 30 days, a period that included the launch of Bitwise's NEAR ETF.
