Silver futures trade near $50.20 after a correction from a recent high of $54.685. The weekly VC PMI level at $50.96 is the first threshold buyers need to reclaim. Mixed fundamentals and macro pressure leave the outlook open.
Silver futures are trading near $50.20, following a substantial correction from the recent chart high of $54.685. The market reached a recent low of $48.895 before attempting a recovery.
The open question is whether silver is establishing a sustainable bottom or simply experiencing a temporary countertrend bounce. The current price remains below several important VC PMI resistance levels, so the market has not yet confirmed a bullish trend reversal.
Key levels to watch
The analysis lists daily resistance at $51.79 and $52.69, with weekly resistance at $53.01 and $56.75. Below the market, daily support sits at $49.54 and $48.19, and weekly support at $47.22.
The weekly VC PMI at $50.96 is an important recovery threshold. Sustained trading above it would improve the short-term technical outlook, while a failure to reclaim it could leave silver vulnerable to another test of $49.54 and $48.19.
Momentum may be improving, but the source stops short of calling a reversal. The MACD reads positive. The line sits near 0.211 against a signal near 0.181, and the positive histogram suggests improving short-term momentum. However, momentum improvement alone does not establish a confirmed reversal.
Fundamentals send mixed signals
Silver's fundamentals present a mixed picture. The Silver Institute's 2026 outlook anticipates a sixth consecutive annual market deficit, but industrial fabrication is projected to decline approximately 3%, with photovoltaic demand a source of weakness.
Macroeconomic conditions matter as well. Higher Treasury yields, a stronger U.S. dollar and expectations of restrictive Federal Reserve policy can pressure precious metals, while declining yields, a weaker dollar and renewed investment demand could support a recovery.
On the downside, a decisive break below $48.19 would increase the probability of testing weekly support near $47.22.
