World, the mysterious Solana project that drew millions of views on X with a glowing globe and the tagline "Trade Everything," has launched as a fully onchain prediction market inside the Phantom wallet. It runs on Chainlink oracle data and settles positions using Phantom's CASH stablecoin.
After months of teasing, the World project has gone live as a fully onchain prediction market built on Solana and embedded inside the Phantom wallet. The platform is online at world.xyz and runs in Phantom on iOS, Android and desktop.
The identity of the account stayed hidden until late June, when a legal disclosure on Phantom's site surfaced on X. Before that, World's cryptic posts had fueled speculation that it might be a meme coin, a trading app or a broader Solana infrastructure play. Copycat WORLD-themed tokens appeared on token launchpads, though none are official World assets.
What traders can bet on
Users can trade event contracts tied to crypto prices and the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with markets on sports, geopolitics and macroeconomics planned for the near future. The setup is non-custodial: traders act directly from their Solana wallets, and funds move only when they enter a market. Positions, settlement and redemptions all happen onchain.
World uses Phantom's CASH stablecoin as its settlement asset, so winning positions redeem automatically inside the wallet. Phantom gives the project immediate reach through one of Solana's largest consumer apps, extending its earlier move into in-app markets through Kalshi and regulated derivatives.
Chainlink handles resolution
Chainlink serves as the primary oracle, supplying market data and resolution infrastructure through Chainlink Data Streams and the Chainlink Runtime Environment. That design aims to cut reliance on human-led resolution, a longstanding friction point for prediction markets. Polymarket has made a similar move toward oracle-based settlement for some price-based markets.
World is not the only Solana-native prediction market. Jupiter unveiled its Forecast beta on June 29, offering 15-minute bitcoin price markets. The Phantom debut is the first of several frontend distribution partnerships World plans to activate across fintech and crypto platforms in July.
