Strategy CEO Phong Le says the company will resume buying Bitcoin before the end of 2026, after pausing purchases in late June. The firm has still bought far more BTC than it sold this year, and its recent sales funded dividends, buybacks, and a growing cash reserve rather than a retreat from Bitcoin.

Strategy CEO Phong Le said the company will resume buying Bitcoin before the end of 2026, following a pause in purchases that began in late June. The firm has bought roughly 175,000 BTC since the year started while selling about 7,000, making it a net buyer by a factor of 25.

Sales Funded Dividends, Buybacks and Cash Reserve

Le explained the proceeds from the firm's recent Bitcoin sale went toward preferred-stock dividends, share repurchases, and its US dollar reserve. The most recent sale, between August 3 and 9, involved 1,690 BTC sold for about $108.6 million at an average of roughly $64,262 per coin.

That reserve now sits at over $4.6 billion. CoinGape reported the reserve is enough to cover obligations for several years.

STRC Still Below Par Despite Rebound

The company's controversial STRC preferred shares have rebounded from lows near $75, though the stock closed Tuesday at just over $95, still below its $100 par value. Analysts questioned Le's recent comments after he said the firm had turned its full attention to pushing STRC toward par, a shift from earlier statements that increasing Bitcoin per share was the primary objective.

840,447 BTC Held, More Buying Planned

Strategy currently holds 840,447 BTC acquired at an average cost of about $75,385 per coin. That position made the firm the largest institutional Bitcoin holder during 2026, up from second place. Its BTC Monetization Program is authorized to monetize up to $1.25 billion, a tool CoinGape described as added flexibility rather than an exit plan.

According to CoinGape, speaking on Fox Business, Le said: "We'll get back to buying more Bitcoin throughout the course of the year." The pledge came as Le pushed back against investor concerns over the company's recent tactical sales.
