Crypto and prediction market executives will gather at the White House next week, according to a POLITICO report cited by Bitcoin Magazine. The meeting lands a day before the CFTC convenes its new Innovation Advisory Committee, and comes even as the crypto Clarity Act sits delayed until a September vote.
Crypto and prediction market executives are set to meet at the White House next week, people with knowledge of the matter told POLITICO. The gathering falls one day before the Commodity Futures Trading Commission holds a meeting for its new Innovation Advisory Committee, which will feature a panel of experts drawn from the crypto, prediction market, and traditional finance industries. The report did not say whether President Trump would attend.
The meeting comes despite a setback for crypto's flagship legislation. Pro-crypto lawmakers had hoped to pass the Clarity Act before Congress left for its August recess, but the vote was pushed back and will now happen in September. Lawmakers began working through a new draft of the bill, which the House of Representatives had passed the previous year, in July. That draft addresses ethics concerns by banning government officials from promoting or profiting from crypto.
Yet regulators are pressing ahead with pro-crypto initiatives regardless of the delay. Trump campaigned on making the United States the crypto capital of the world and drew backing from major industry players in the process. Since taking office, he has signed a string of pro-crypto measures, including a March 2025 executive order directing the creation of a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve. Regulators have also dropped a number of high-profile lawsuits against crypto companies and shifted toward a more accommodating approach to industry oversight.
