XRP hovered near $1.35 on Sunday, hours ahead of a Senate procedural vote on the CLARITY Act Tuesday and the Federal Reserve's rate decision Wednesday. President Trump met with advisers Friday on ethics language tied to the bill, though the meeting's outcome remains undisclosed.

Bitcoin traded around $77,000, Ethereum near $2,490, and Solana close to $100 as the same two catalysts weighed on the wider market.

CLARITY Act faces a September 15 test

Senator Cynthia Lummis released a revised, 630-page draft of the bill Thursday. She said the text incorporates more than 114 provisions requested by Democratic colleagues, though the count refers to changes rather than commitments to vote.

The draft would require trading protocols that retain centralized control, despite describing themselves as decentralized, to register with the CFTC and meet Bank Secrecy Act requirements. Its DeFi provisions cover spot digital commodity transactions only, leaving prediction markets outside that section, and the CFTC would write tailored rules after consulting the SEC and Treasury.

Per the Senate schedule, cloture on the motion to proceed is set for September 15 at 2:15 p.m. ET. Cloture needs 60 votes, and Republicans hold 53 Senate seats, so they need seven more if united. A successful vote would only open debate, not make the bill law.

Fed decision adds another catalyst

The Federal Open Market Committee meets September 15 and 16, with its rate decision due Wednesday at 2 p.m. ET. Futures markets recently placed the chance of a quarter-point increase near 90%. August consumer prices rose 3.4% from a year earlier.

An interest-rate increase could weigh on speculative assets if Treasury yields and the dollar rise, while a less restrictive message could ease pressure. Neither outcome would settle the Senate dispute, leaving XRP open to sharp moves in either direction within roughly 24 hours.

XRP price prediction for the week

XRP's relative strength index stood near 45 in a September 13 reading, pointing to subdued momentum, while its MACD remained negative.

The first resistance zone sits around $1.35 to $1.37, near recent moving averages. A sustained break could put $1.40 and then $1.45 in focus this week; below $1.33, attention would shift toward $1.30 if weakness deepens.

Holding $1.33 would preserve the near-term range, and stronger volume above $1.40 would offer clearer evidence of improving momentum. A failed Senate vote or an unexpectedly firm Fed message could instead increase pressure on the XRP price.
