Unconfirmed claims that XRP has been enabled for FedNow payments through a Volante Technologies integration have fueled fresh buying, with spot demand and network activity both climbing. The token's rally coincides with a separate, broader crypto surge that has pushed XRP up 47.5% over seven days, though the Federal Reserve has not confirmed any FedNow role for the token.

Volante integration sparks FedNow speculation

According to a post from Whale Insider, XRP has been enabled for instant FedNow payments through Volante Technologies' Ripple integration. Volante acts as middleware for major U.S. banks, connecting them to networks including FedNow, RTP, Fedwire, and SWIFT. With Ripple now added to that list, banks could in theory settle through XRP on the same rails the Fed uses for round-the-clock real-time transfers.

However, there is no official Federal Reserve confirmation that positions XRP as a FedNow service provider. FedNow and XRP both sit among Volante's payment options, but that does not mean the two are directly connected.

Spot demand and network activity climb

The market responded to the speculation with intensified spot buying. XRP's exchange netflow dropped to -$12.9 million for a third consecutive day. Meanwhile, total transaction count climbed to a four-month high of 3.2 million, pointing to rising network activity as the FedNow chatter spread.

If the community buzz continues to build, it could push XRP toward $1.6 and $2. For now, though, the FedNow claim remains community talk, and any lasting effect would need direct Fed confirmation.

Broader rally lifts XRP 47.5% in a week

The FedNow speculation landed alongside a wider market rally. XRP traded near $1.47 on Aug. 24 after gaining 47.5% over seven days, putting it on course for its strongest weekly performance since November 2024. That advance followed the U.S. Treasury doubling planned long bond buybacks to at least $4 billion per operation starting in September, a move that weakened the dollar and lifted risk assets. The rally also coincided with marketwide short liquidations exceeding $1.2 billion in one 24-hour period, though that figure covers the wider crypto market rather than XRP alone.

Binance's estimated XRP leverage ratio has climbed to its highest level since early 2026, raising the risk of sharp moves in either direction. XRP still trades about 59.6% below its July 2025 record high of $3.65, leaving the broader recovery only partly complete.
