XRP climbed to $1.54 this week, up roughly 10%, after SEC staff issued guidance on crypto token structures following the Senate's failure to pass the CLARITY Act. The token now faces resistance near $1.60 and support near $1.50, while its five U.S. spot ETFs pulled in $22.65 million in net inflows on September 25.

XRP surged to $1.54 during a broader market rebound, leaving the token roughly 10% higher over the week. Bitcoin held above $84,000 and Ether traded near $2,680.

SEC fills gap after CLARITY Act stalls

The Senate failed to advance the CLARITY Act earlier this month, leaving its proposed market rules stalled. On September 25, SEC staff published guidance addressing token buybacks, staking receipts, network maintenance and promotional claims.

Staff said buybacks involving nonsecurity tokens on functional networks do not necessarily signal promised managerial work. Certain staking receipts may qualify as digital tools or commodities depending on how they are issued, and routine upgrades or promotion of existing network uses may also fall outside investment contract analysis. However, the guidance carries no legal force and does not directly classify XRP.

XRP tests $1.60 resistance as $1.50 support holds

XRP surged to $1.60 this week before easing to $1.5535 by 08:41 UTC Saturday.

The four-hour chart places immediate resistance at $1.60, where recent advances stalled; a sustained break above that level could bring $1.65 into view, followed by $1.70. Support sits near $1.50, which steadied the pullback after September 23, and a close below that level could expose $1.45 and weaken the recovery from mid-September.

The four-hour RSI stood at 52, above its neutral midpoint of 50, while the MACD line sat below the signal line, indicating that short-term momentum is weakening.

Kalshi traders' forecast for XRP stands at $1.70 for September, up $0.10 from its previous reading, reflecting positions on how high the token could climb before month-end. The platform separately lists a contract for XRP rising above $1.70 by September 30, though that outcome remains uncertain as market odds shift with new trades.

XRP ETFs draw $22.65 million in inflows

The five U.S. spot XRP ETFs recorded $22.65 million in net inflows on September 25, according to SoSoValue. Bitwise led with $18.39 million, about 81% of the daily total, while Franklin Templeton's XRPZ added $4.26 million; the three other products recorded no net movement.

The additions lifted cumulative net inflows to $1.79 billion and combined net assets to $1.77 billion, representing 1.80% of XRP's market capitalization. Trading value across the five products reached $57.75 million, including $37.07 million from Bitwise.
