BlackRock's spot Ethereum ETF has bought roughly $250 million worth of ETH over the past 20 trading days, extending an inflow streak even as Ethereum's price moves sideways. The fund's steady buying comes as US spot ETH ETFs overall just posted their best month in a year.

BlackRock's Ethereum ETF, ETHA, bought about $13.9 million worth of ETH during its latest trading session. That pushed its total Ethereum purchases over the past 20 trading days to $251.4 million, according to onchain data from Arkham Intelligence. The buying continues even though Ethereum has been trading sideways, showing mixed price action over the past weeks.

ETHA holds a 20-day inflow streak

ETHA has recorded no outflows during the 20-day period, maintaining its inflow streak despite the unstable price movements. Other major Ethereum ETFs, including Fidelity's FETH, recorded notable outflows during the same period. It appears that institutions are showing more confidence in BlackRock's product than in rival funds.

August was the best month in a year

Zooming out, spot Ethereum ETFs in the US drew in $1.75 billion across August 2026, the strongest monthly figure since August 2025. That snapped a rough patch that had seen the category bleed over $1 billion in net outflows during May and June combined.

Most of that haul arrived in a single burst: a streak of nine to ten consecutive trading sessions beginning around August 17 generated approximately $1.42 billion in net inflows, according to data from SoSoValue and Farside Investors. The peak came on August 27, when $225.8 million flowed into spot ETH products in a single day. Bitcoin ETFs pulled in $242.3 million that same day.

Institutional money, not retail, drives the pivot

BlackRock's ETHA did most of the heavy lifting in August, accounting for roughly 72% of the month's inflow streak, or about $1.02 billion. Fidelity's FETH and BlackRock's staking-enabled ETHB product filled in the rest.

The capital behind August's surge came largely from institutional and traditional finance channels rather than crypto-native retail flows, helped by declining Treasury yields and an improving regulatory environment for digital assets. Since their July 2024 launch, cumulative net inflows across all US spot Ethereum ETFs have reached approximately $12 billion to $13 billion.
