Gold futures hold a bullish bias above the 4,370-4,382 support cluster, but 4,432 stands as the first major resistance test of the week. Sustained acceptance above 4,433 would open the path toward 4,449 and 4,480, while a break below 4,370 would flip the near-term structure bearish.
Gold futures opened the week with a constructive bullish bias, and buyers stay in control while price holds the 4,370-4,382 support cluster. But the first real test comes at 4,432, Friday's value area high, where profit-taking, hesitation, or a confirmed breakout could show up.
Support at 4,370-4,382 keeps the bullish case intact
Today's intraday dip stopped just above Friday's value area low, bottoming near 4,372, and buyers responded in the lower part of the range. That reaction keeps the near-term bullish case alive for now, though the setup still reads as a level-to-level map near a key support level rather than a reason to chase price after last week's advance.
A move above 4,433 could open the path higher
Bullish continuation requires sustained acceptance above 4,433, not merely a brief probe above resistance. Traders may prefer signs of a genuine breakout — a 30-minute close above the level or a successful retest — rather than reacting to the first tick through it.
A confirmed move higher would put 4,449 and 4,454 in view, followed by 4,480 and a wider swing target near 4,548. The four-hour chart shows gold has repaired sharply from the lower 4,000s, with the next resistance band at 4,454-4,555, then 4,573 and 4,628-4,655 further out if buyers keep accepting elevated prices.
A break below 4,370 risks a slide toward 4,331
The bearish case only becomes relevant if gold breaks below 4,370 and sustains trade there, with confirmation coming from two 30-minute closes below the level or a failed retest. That would open 4,358 and 4,347, then 4,340 and 4,331 as closer downside references, reflecting a structure that is still broadly constructive. Only if selling pressure broadens significantly would the wider support areas near 4,308-4,286 and 4,226-4,210 come into play.
Between the two levels, patience beats forcing a trade
Traders already long from the 4,370-4,382 cluster may look to trim near 4,432, rather than treat it as an automatic shorting trigger. Between 4,370 and 4,433, gold sits inside the tradeCompass decision zone, where patience can matter more than forcing a directional trade in the middle of a developing range.
