XRP ETFs pulled in $39.8 million in net inflows over four sessions, their strongest week since May. XRP's price cooled to $1.47 after a 50% weekly surge. The token is holding the $1.40 support level as the MACD turns bearish, leaving traders watching whether a bounce toward $1.60 can hold.
XRP traded near $1.47 after cooling from a 50% surge over the past week. The broader crypto market gained 1.61% over 24 hours. Its total market cap reached about $2.62 trillion. Bitcoin stayed above $77,000 and Ethereum stood at $2,400 as the improving mood lifted crypto profits, with institutional and retail participation rising as the Fear and Greed Index remained in the greed range.
Institutional demand strengthens the rally
Spot XRP ETFs booked their highest weekly inflows since May, taking in $39.8 million across four weekly inflow sessions. That topped the previous high, set in mid-May, when similar funds raised about $60.5 million. Daily net inflows for U.S. spot XRP ETFs on August 21 came to $18.38 million, while trading volume across the listed products reached $94.03 million.
Total net assets in the products rose to $1.33 billion, and cumulative inflows since launch climbed to $1.55 billion, equal to almost 1.54% of XRP's total market value. XRP still needs to defend its recent support levels to keep the momentum going. Steady ETF demand combined with a quiet broader market could encourage further gains, though the token faces a near-term risk of profit-taking.
Price holds $1.40 as momentum cools
XRP rallied almost 50% during the week, reaching the $1.45 mark, before falling back from $1.60 as traders booked profits. On the 4-hour chart, the token is still holding the critical $1.40 support level, a level that will determine whether the broader bullish structure holds.
The RSI fell back to 58.80 from overbought levels, showing momentum has weakened, though XRP remains moderately bullish. The MACD line, meanwhile, crossed below the signal line in a bearish crossover, and a negative histogram reading of 0.0170 points to increasing short-term pressure.
A recovery above $1.50 could open the way toward the $1.60 resistance level, with momentum above that mark potentially unlocking $1.70 and $1.80. But a loss of $1.40 could send XRP back toward $1.30. Persistent selling pressure could push it down to $1.20.
