The Cardano platform includes a cryptocurrency called ADA. Cardano is a decentralized public blockchain project that is fully open-source and was founded in 2015 by Charles Hoskinson, co-founder of Ethereum. In September 2017, the very first ADA token was released. The first blockchain platform and cryptocurrency, Bitcoin, was released in 2009. It currently has the largest market capitalization of all crypto coins.
